Back in February 2020, I wrote a blog about my photography goals for 2020. At the point of writing, I did not envisage a worldwide pandemic! However, looking back at what I wanted to achieve I think I’ve done OK. Even more, I’ve had some of the best sessions to date. Meeting new people in between lockdowns meant the world to me too. I have cherished each session and was so happy when I was able to shoot again.
My proudest achievement of 2020 was getting into videography and creating short family films. It was great doing something new and learning new techinques. I will forever remember the video I’ve made with Sophie. I was asking her about COVID-19 and I was amazed how much she understood at the age of 3.5 years only!
2020 meant that I had a little bit of free time when I couldn’t do photo sessions. This didn’t make me stop and I have written 23 blog posts in 2020! I do enjoy writing blogs but they don’t come easy to me. I have so many ideas in my head and words are just flying around. However, when I need to put the words on paper it’s much harder for me to find them again. This doesn’t stop me and I will continue writing my little blogs. I might even beat the previous year number. Who knows 🙂
In 2020 I also updated my client welcome guides which I am so proud of. Every client receives two guides. A welcome guide packed with all the information they find helpful for the session. The second guide has all the information about my packages and products I offer which has been super helpful to my clients. I have also recently written a further three blogs to help families in session preparation:
- Five tips on how to prepare for a family photo session
- What to wear for a newborn baby photoshoot
- What to wear for a maternity photo session
As I grow my business, so is my understanding of my clients. I want to make sure I provide the best possible service. I always aim to take away any stress from my clients and give them the best photography experience as I can.
Summarising, 2020 was hard but we did get through it! We are incredible human beings and together we can survive anything. I wish you all the best for 2021 and let’s hope for a safer year. The year when we can hug, visit loved ones and feel free.
Till next time
