A few months ago I thought to myself why not try something different and practice a different style of photography. I was going through Instagram when I came across Rusticrafts profile run by Gosia. I was immediately drawn to the beautiful handmade jewellery she makes. After few days of thinking, I sent Gosia a message and asked whether she would like to collaborate. I’ve asked her if I could practice product photography on her jewellery. I was thrilled when she said yes!
Gosia was happy to do a lifestyle type of photo session where she was wearing her jewellery. During the photo session, I had an opportunity to take close up detail of her jewellery and also some photographs of Gosia herself. I found a fantastic spot that I believe matched Gosia’s style wonderfully. It was raw and rustic and for me, it felt like I was somewhere else other than Hampshire.
Gosia wore a lovely red dress and she also had beautiful accessories such as a hat, leather and jean jacket and gorgeous bags. I was primarily focused on her jewellery pieces and coming up with various close up shots. Saying that I wanted to make sure Gosia also has some full profile pictures and how they showcased her jewellery.
With the chosen location we had lots of lovely spots to take pictures and they worked great with the rustic feel of Gosia’s jewellery. After a few pictures in her dress, Gosia changed for a more casual look. She was wearing a black top and leggings and both a jean jacket and leather jacket worked well too.
During our session, I had a lovely chat about how Gosia started her jewellery business and attended a course on how to weld and create beautiful jewellery pieces. It was interesting to hear her story about how she came to the UK and when she used to live in Spain.
I thoroughly enjoyed product photography with Rusticrafts. It was a great experience doing something new! I will be open to future projects like this one and spending some quality time with small business owners. If you are interested in a similar session get in touch and I would love to work with you. I am currently based in Basingstoke, Hampshire but happy to travel further as well 🙂
Till next time
