This year a few mums-to-be have contacted me with a request for a maternity and newborn photoshoot. I jump with joy when I receive a booking for a single session but capturing both important life events is just the best!
Emily was in her second pregnancy. She didn’t manage to organise any session with her first so both sessions were the opportunity to capture family life and their love.
For our maternity session, we met at the small car park and walked to the fields in Basingstoke. Straight away I had a feeling this session would be great. Emily’s daughter was smiling and she was very chatty too. We began our session with cuddles and I also liked to play games such as Simon says and peek-a-boo.
We had amazing weather for the session and all the family were perfect to photograph.
A couple of months later I received an e-mail from Emily saying their second daughter was born. We agreed on the date for our newborn session and I was excited to meet a new family member.
Andy welcomed me to their home and Avery was excited to show me her baby sister. Emily was first feeding her baby girl and whilst I was capturing the moment I was asking Avery about her little sister. She was counting her little toes and we were deciding on who is bigger.
Andy and Emily were giving so much love to their girls. There were so many cuddles and kisses. Avery was such a good girl cuddling her baby sister too and we even managed to measure their feet! Of course, Avery knew whose feet were bigger.
I liked the way Ella was looking at her Mum and Dad and she was even trying to smile. Both parents were holding her with such care and love.
After I left the family I was eager to start working on the galley straight away. I knew there were some images I couldn’t wait to share. Hopefully, you will enjoy looking at the images as much as I do. I am a true believer in keeping memories alive and images do just that. They freeze the moment and hold that feeling you had.
If you would like me to capture your growing bump and a newborn baby session get in touch. This is such an important time in your life and one to remember forever.
Till next time
