It was a beautiful summer’s evening when I met Emma and Russell for their maternity photo session. Both Emma and Russell looked lovely and I had a good feeling about our session.
The location where we took images was perfect and I was eager to capture the beauty and love Emma and Russell had for each other and their baby bump.
Emma booked a bump and newborn photo session with me and after our first session, I couldn’t wait for the next!
A couple of months later I visited Emma and Russell in their home for a newborn photo session. This session has brought back some lovely memories of my two little girls.
Becoming a parent is an amazing experience. Until I had my first one I didn’t know how much love there is to give. I still remember the first cuddle with Sophie and Hanna in the hospital. They were so little and precious. I loved the way they looked at me. I remember how their eyes were slowly opening and closing. In the first moments, nothing else mattered.
When I see clients for their newborn session I always look for this genuine connection and that look on the baby’s face towards their parents. Isla was looking at Emma and Russell so lovingly. At those moments I take a picture and then step back and give the parents this beautiful special moment.
Newborn photo sessions are also a perfect way for parents to get that moment where all of the family is focused on them. There are no distractions. Both parents can just enjoy the beautiful family moments as they are.
This year I have seen many lovely parents-to-be. I feel privileged when I can capture their journey to parenthood. Maternity and newborn sessions are one of my favourites for sure!
If you are expecting your baby I would love to hear from you. Planning bump and newborn photo sessions can be so much fun! It is a great way for me to meet you and get to know you.
Till next time
