When my girls were younger I remember attending a variety of baby and kids activities. Baby classes were a great opportunity for girls to learn, interact and observe new things. It was also a perfect way for me, as a new mum to meet other mums. To this day, I am still friends with some mums from these baby groups. Sophie is also best friends to one other girl from our classes. For the last 5 years, it was great seeing them grow together and creating this beautiful friendship.
If you are a new mum and looking for activities for your baby or a toddler, look no further. Here are my five baby and kids activities in Basingstoke you must try!
Tot’s Play Basingstoke and Hook
Michelle runs Tot’s Play group around Basingstoke and she is just great! The classes she runs are perfect for baby development. Each session is completely different and gives your baby lots of good stimulation. Michelle incorporates sign language and kids just love her. You can sign up for her courses with your baby and also a toddler. She runs a variety of classes between 0-4 years. It’s definitely a group where you find lots of new mums too and create those valuable friendships.
Little Learners Basingstoke
Lene is running another fabulous baby and toddler group in Basinsgtoke called Little Learners. When you come to Lene’s class your baby will have a fabulous time with messy play and mark making. Little Learners follow an early writing programme. They use messy play, paint, playdough, pens and so much more. It’s interactive and the best bit is that your child will explore so many new things. The bonus is that you don’t have to do the messy activities at your home (which always way too stressful!). A perfect solution 🙂 The group is great if you have more than one child too. My girls loved their time at Little Learners.
Tot Cross Buns
Alison has been running Tot Cross Buns for the last 8 years. She is lovely to speak to and she has a great way of speaking and interacting with kids. One of my big worried as a mum was when my kids start eating and not wanting them to be fussy. We want them to explore new flavours and love food the way we do. Alison’s classes are brilliant for kids in that respect. During the cooking classes they learn how to measure things, they smell and touch new ingredients and it’s great seeing the happy faces at the end of the class, proud of what they made. These classes are perfect for 2-5 year old children. In no time you will have a new Jamie Oliver in your house 🙂
The Little Swim Club
Learning to swim is a life-changing skill. For me, swimming is so important and I can’t wait when my daughters will be able to swim. The Little Swim Club offers a variety of baby swimming classes with parents and once your child is bigger it will be able to start lessons on their own. The Little Swim Club teachers are friendly and have a great approach with children. They make classes fun and safe.
Karen Blackburn Dance Academy
Hands up if you love dancing! Music is so important for kids development. In our household, there is not a day where we don’t dance or have music playing in the background. Karen Blackburn Dance Academy is a fabulous place where your child will enjoy music, dance, performance and meet new friends. The Academy offers a variety of classes and your toddler can join the classes as early as 18 months.
Here they are, five baby and kids activities in Basingstoke you must try! I hope they will encourage you to go out, enjoy, meet new people and give your children time to learn and explore.
Till next time
