I love family and newborn photography but recently I have tried something new. After my product photography with Rusticrafts jewellery, I had the opportunity to take food photography with Banana Blossom.
Linh’s food is delicious and I tasted it for the first time at the local Portsmouth Arms market in Basingstoke. I had a yummy bun and spring rolls. It tasted like heaven and my girls loved it too!
Linh and I are members of a mums network in Basingstoke. We all support each others business. I was excited when Linh agreed to a photo session of her food. We booked three Sundays and then had a zoom call to plan our sessions. Linh decided on 12 dishes and we worked together on how to present them. Linh was great at explaining to me what utensils each dish require. I also went on Pinterest to find some inspirations of layouts and backdrops that might work.
The photo sessions themselves were great fun! Linh’s kitchen smelt beautiful from all the cooking. Whilst Linh was preparing the dishes I was working on the background and getting the accessories ready such as cloths, utensils, flowers etc. Each of our three sessions was an absolute pleasure to work on, and I enjoyed doing something totally different to portrait photography.
If you are local to Basingstoke and would like to try delicious food cooked by Linh head over to her website here. She offers Thursday take away and you can also find her at various local Markets. For all the latest news follow her facebook page here.
If you would like to update your products images whether you are a jeweller, craft maker, cook etc. please get in touch. I would love to help your small business and create beautiful images of your products.
Till next time
