Frequently asked questions

I know when thinking about any photography session you’ll have lots of questions. I’ve tried to provide answers to the most frequent questions I get asked below. However, if you do have any further questions then please do not hesitate to get in touch via the contact me page.

Where does the photo session take place?

The session can take place in your family home or on location. If you have a specific location please let me know. Otherwise, we can discuss the best location during our consultation. I am based in Basingstoke, however I am willing to travel further. There may be a small travelling fee to cover travel expenses depending on the location.

What time do the sessions take place?

I am happy to work any time of the day according to you and your family’s schedule. However, generally the best time for sessions are mornings when the sun rises or afternoons, about 1 hour before sunset (golden hour). We want to follow that glorious light!

When should I book?

There is no rule. Ideally 3-4 weeks in advance however if you want to guarantee a particular date then I would recommend booking as early as possible!

How do I book?

Get in touch via Contact me page. I will then send you all the information you will need for our session.

If the weather is unfavourable can I re-schedule?

The choice is yours! If the weather is going to stop us from creating the best pictures for your family I am happy to re-schedule. However, I will also be prepared for any conditions should you still wish to go ahead with the session. I will be in touch couple of days before our shoot and we can decide what the best option is.

How long will it take to receive my photos?

Your fully edited photos will be available in a private online gallery two to three weeks after our session. You can then choose photos you want as part of your session and any additional images you may wish to purchase. You can also select any images you would like for any printed products.

What should I wear?

Clothing may have a great impact on the final results of your photography session. I will be sending to you a ‘What to wear guide’ where you can look at the colour palette and get some general ideas of what works well. Generally, I ask clients to avoid prints and patterns, including logos as much as possible and don’t overdo on accessories. I still want you to feel as comfortable as possible and my guide will help you with preparation.

What happens if a family member is ill?

I am happy to re-schedule. Just let me know as soon as possible and we can start looking at some alternative dates.

Should we bring anything to the session?

Just bring lots and lots of enthusiasm! I want your family to have fun during the shoot. When we have our consultation, I will be sending some handy information sheets which will ensure you are prepared for the session.

I love my photos! Can I share them online?

Of course! I encourage you to share your photos with your loved ones and you can post them on social media such as Facebook or Instagram. All I would gently ask is that you tag me (@EwaJonesPhotography) in any pictures you share!
