This year I have been blessed with meeting many tiny babies and their families. It’s always a privilege for me to be able to photograph your special family moments. I am also thankful to you who always welcome me to your home so warmly. It immediately puts me at ease and makes me want to shoot and create beautiful images for you. In-home newborn baby photography is probably one of the best sessions there are and this session with Edyta, Christian and Emilia was no different.
I love baby photography so much! Those sessions bring me joy and it’s wonderful to see the beautiful family connection. My aim for the session it’s always to focus on true love and show emotions. During the session, I go with the flow and never rush anything. I observe and most of the time let parents attend to their baby as they would if I wasn’t there. During those moments the magic happens.
As a mum, I know how important it is to have beautiful family pictures. For me it’s not about staring into the camera and saying cheese. It’s about a conversation and how you feel as a family. I believe that beauty in the pictures comes from your happiness and when you are truly yourself.
The baby photography session with Edyta was just like that. At first, both parents were a little nervous. I knew how much this session meant to them and it was the first session they had as a family of three. Their baby girl was so beautiful and she barely cried during the session too!
During my in-home baby photography sessions, I ALWAYS focus on emotions. There was this special moment when Emilia was lying on dad’s lap and mum and dad were trying to make her laugh. I took a few pictures of the expressions on parents faces and it was so beautiful to see. No posing, no forced smiles, just family being family!
There are also my ‘go to’ baby photography poses such as cuddles and kisses with baby and mum. Mummy feeding the baby and all the family together on the sofa or bed. Pictures with dad and your baby are very important too and always makes me smile.
Those couple of hours in Edyta’s and Christian home went very quickly and I’ve enjoyed my time with them and meeting their new addition to the family. It was a pleasure working with them and I will look forward to seeing them in the future.
