A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing the lovely Izzo family. It was also the first time I’ve photographed a family of six, up to this point my typical shoots are with one two children. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the Izzo family, and I wanted to share with you some of the best highlights from the photoshoot.
I met with Jodie a couple of weeks before our session to get to know her a little better and to understand the expectation for the session. As soon as I arrived, Marco (3rd born) gave me the biggest hug ever. He did the same thing when I arrived for the family photoshoot which was so lovely.
The boys were full of energy and immediately started to dance to their favourite songs. They were just themselves and I enjoyed capturing their cheeky characters. I even managed to capture dad dancing with them which was wonderful to watch.
The boys were also so keen to show me their favourite books and I’ve had a lot of fun with Lorenzo reading “Knock knock who’s there” book and listening to Nico’s favourite dinosaur book. Their other passion for sure are TRAINS! They absolutely love them! Nico was even counting one of the longest ones they did during the session and it had 48 carriages. Nico was, for sure, very proud.
The youngest, Francesco, stole my heart with being so lovely and I adored the way he was cuddling his mum and having fun piggyback on his dad’s shoulders.
When the family went downstairs, I quickly had an opportunity to photograph some home details and enjoy the beautiful décor Jodie has created for her boys. It’s all those simple touches that makes a house a home and a space to enjoy and love.
Jodie is an amazing mum! Before having children, she used to be a nurse and I can see how much care and love she has for her family. She is a full-time mum and also a channel mum vlogger. She has her Youtube channel and you can also follow her and her life with the boys and Dan on her Instagram account. She is so down to earth and open. She talks about her high and lows and her messages can be so inspirational. I’ve been so touched about her journey with little Marco who was born with talipes and amazed how much strength this family has. They went through so much and continue to have appointments and hospital visits, however, Marco is such a brave little boy and I am hoping he never loses his smiles 😊.
Before the end of our session, we managed to go for a short walk to their local park which was so lovely. The weather recently has been terrible recently however we were lucky that the sun came out and a trip to the park was successful. I also had a chance to take a few more family photographs and continue testing my video skills.
After our trip to the park, both Francesco and Marco were ready for their naps (bless them), whilst Lorenzo and Nico still had a little energy for tickles and playing with daddy.
Having spent a couple of hours with the Izzo family I can easily say it’s been a pleasure photographing them and gave me a perfect insight into photographing larger families.
If you and your family would like to have a couple of hours of fun and thinking of having a family photoshoot give me a shout!
Till next time
