A couple of weeks ago I ventured out to Salisbury to take maternity photos for Laura & Sam. They won this session as part of my couples photo session giveaway at the beginning of the year. I also knew it was the first time for Laura and Sam to be photographed in their home. They have been lovingly renovating their charming cottage and you can follow their Instagram account to see how lovely it is.
Pregnancy is such a special time for every expecting mum. For 9 months we carry the little humans which already can give us so much happiness. We get excited when we can feel first flutter kicks which then turn into proper baby kicks. When the baby kicks during the session I always see such a beautiful reaction from both mum and dad. Laura and Sam were looking at each other and smiling each time their little girl was moving and kicking 🙂
During our maternity session, Laura and Sam changed their outfits a couple of times. We started our session in Laura and Sam’s bedroom and focused on taking those lovely photographs of Laura’s bump. It was great to see when Sam joined Laura and how happy they both were. Sam was looking with so much love at Laura and their cuddles felt special and intimate.
After the bedroom, we took more pictures in the baby nursery which were stunning. One of my favourite pictures from this session (there are so many!) is of Laura sitting on the chair and holding the bump. I can already imagine her when she is going to nurse her baby girl and sing her lullabies to sleep.
For our second part of the session, we moved downstairs and were taking photos in the kitchen and living room. Laura has changed her outfit to a lovely white floating dress and Sam changed to a casual shirt and chinos. Their kitchen was a lovely space and so bright despite the fact it was a cottage. It was also the perfect space for a dance. I asked Sam to put on their first dance song and just watched them enjoying the music and dancing with each other. It was beautiful to see 🙂
Of course, I can’t forget to mention Laura’s and Sam’s dogs. Bear and Bee were great throughout our session and I think they enjoyed laying on the sofas sleeping and staying close to their owners 🙂
As I said at the beginning, I was looking forward to this maternity photography session for a long time and it didn’t disappoint me one bit! Laura and Sam are going to be beautiful parents and I wish them all the best for the future with their precious baby girl.
If you would like me to create beautiful memories of the special pregnancy time get in touch and we can discuss your maternity photography session in detail. I am currently based in Hook, Hampshire but can travel further and meet with you where convenient.
Till next time
