I can’t believe I have been running my business for well over a year now. I genuinely don’t know where the time has gone. Working as a self-employed person it’s not always easy but the business can give you lots of flexibility.
I am still wearing all the hats. I am not only a family photographer. My other jobs are being my own PA, marketing person, and an accountant. Sometimes it is hard to juggle but it is all worth it.
When it comes to marketing, there are lots of different channels to explore. There is Instagram, Facebook, direct marketing etc. however one of the best marketing there is for a small business is word of mouth. It takes a long time to build client relationships but step by step you grow in confidence. Clients see your work and when you look after them well they are more likely to recommend you to their friends and family.
A few months ago I had a session in London with this gorgeous family. Mum was so lovely and very pleased with her final images. A couple of months after the session I received another client enquiry. This Mum contacted me as she was speaking to my previous clients about their sessions. My clients recommended me and they were excited to book me in.
